Welcome to "The Salzmines".

Welcome to my blog "The Salzmines". Here you will find highlights from the past thirty years of my paintings. I have been painting for over forty. The site also contains photos of my mother Marina Salz from her Ballets Russes days and beyond. There are as well stories and photos of my father art dealer Sam Salz, ( , and a few paintings by my brother Andre Salz. My newer paintings and drawings are followed by older shaped pieces since there is mostly no chronological order as you scroll down for the older work. Please click on each photo to enlarge it and also on "Older Posts" when you reach the bottom on the right of each page. You may also choose to go to the various years in the "Blog Archive" section on the right side.  More of my paintings along with a resume can be seen at:
"Songs from a Tree", 2017, by Marc Salz, pencil/watercolor, 12"-13". This piece and the following ones are part of my series titled "The Nature Drawings". Each drawing shows the gradual, fractal dividing of large forms into smaller and even smaller ones as in nature. Please  keep scrolling down for more photos and click on each one to enlarge it.
